A Quick Bio:
David Ko (b.1991) grew up in Clearwater, FL and quickly learned to love creating. During his time in college, David channeled his love for music into multiple outlets including collegiate a cappella, choral groups, and composition. He has been composing music for choir, a cappella groups, webcomics, and video games since 2009, and has been recognized for his music on both a national and international level.
David holds a bachelors and Masters degree in Music Therapy from Florida State University. He is currently based in eastern Connecticut, where he works as the Assistant Director for a local music therapy private practice.
Accolades And Other Things:
David's instrumental music has most notably appeared under the What Pumpkin record label in the webcomic Homestuck, where it has sold thousands of copies and entertained numerous fans.
David's a cappella arrangements have earned multiple awards at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA). He now arranges a cappella music in various styles for high school, collegiate, and professional a cappella groups throughout the United States.
In 2019, David dug into his gaming roots and began working with FamiTracker. His 8bit compositions can be heard in multiple games, including PLOID SAGA for the Nintendo Switch. As of 2020, he is the official NES Composer for NAPE GAMES.
David's immediate family has ties to both Denmark and China. His parents always joked that David was "the Chinese viking," and the concept kind of stuck.
